Supporting "The Peggy”
"It’s been said, “team work makes the dream work.” Thank you PCC for all the hard work that goes into keeping this beautiful and affordable community center going. Along with your efforts, as well as The Counseling and Psychotherapy Center Highlands, I can afford to offer sliding scale fee services while maintaining an adult office as well as a fully equipped therapy play room for the children of our community."
Anne L. Koenig, Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist, The Counseling and Psychotherapy Center of Highlands
"I have been able to see first-hand what a valuable asset the Peggy Crosby Center is to the community and businesses that occupy it. At the Center for Life Enrichment we are particularly thankful to have such an affordable, well-maintained space for all of the classes and events we offer. Previously CLE had to rely on several different spaces in Highlands to facilitate the classes and lectures we had. Now we have them all in one great space without our members having to run all over town."
- Bonnie Dayton, Marketing Director, Center for Life Enrichment
The Peggy Crosby Community Service Center is a rare gem in our Highlands community. Our mission is to provide affordable office space for non-profit organizations and small businesses offering community services so that they can use their limited resources to more effectively serve their clients and patrons. Rental income from our tenants pays for the day-to-day operations of the facility. Housed in the original Highlands hospital building, the property has undergone a necessary and complete renovation since 2010. All of these improvements, totaling $483,000 since 2010, were made possible by private donations and grants.
While our renovations are complete, our goal is to raise the funds to maintain and further improve the property for our tenants. We also need to establish reserves for the inevitable larger capital projects. These reserves will protect our tenants from sudden increases in rental rates due to emergency needs. PCC receives no funding from any source on an ongoing basis (other than tenant rents). We conduct only this single letter writing fundraising campaign each year.
Your 2019 investment in the Peggy Crosby Center will allow us to:
- Maintain low-cost occupancy rates;
- Continue to improve our facility to better serve the needs of our tenants; and
- Build the Infrastructure Reserve Fund for ongoing maintenance and critical repairs (roof, HVAC systems, parking lots, etc.).
We are excited about our fundraising campaign for 2019, “Peggy’s Heroes” and the various levels of giving opportunities. We hope that we can count on your support!
